Privacy policy
Freelancerate (freelancerate.app) is a free calculator and guide site for freelancers. This page explains what data is handled when you use it. Questions or requests: hello@freelancerate.app.
The calculator
The numbers you enter are calculated in your browser. We do not receive them, store them or link them to you.
Email signup
If you subscribe to get the pricing cheat sheet, we collect your email address. It is processed by Kit (kit.com), our email provider, which sends the welcome email and any later messages. We use your address to send the cheat sheet and occasional emails about freelance pricing and new tools. We do not sell it. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email, and you can ask us to delete your data. The Kit form loads a script from Kit and may use cookies or similar technology to run the form; see Kit's privacy policy for details.
Hosting and analytics
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver and secure the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate visits, such as pages viewed and countries. It does not use cookies and does not build profiles of individual visitors.
Other services your browser contacts
- Google Fonts supplies the site's typeface, so your browser requests it from Google, which can see your IP address.
- Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev) supplies exchange rates, so your browser requests the rates from it. No personal data is sent beyond what any web request includes.
- Google Search Console is used only to see how the site appears in search. It does not run on your visits.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you click one, the company's own site may set cookies to track the referral. See the affiliate disclosure.
Why we process data
We send emails because you consented when you subscribed, and you can withdraw consent at any time. We host and secure the site and measure aggregate usage because it is necessary to run the site (our legitimate interest).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us and we will respond. Our providers, including Kit and Cloudflare, may process data in the United States and other countries.
Keeping data
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
